Sinead O’Connor’s family shares heartbreaking funeral plans | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Sinead O’Connor’s family have confirmed she will be laid to rest on Tuesday, with fans having the opportunity to pay their final respects to the Nothing Compares 2 U singer.

The star was found dead in her flat in south-east London last Wednesday aged just 56 and her sudden death left fans across the world in mourning.

Sinead’s fans, family and friends will be able to say a last goodbye to the Irish star.

This coming Tuesday morning at 10.30am, the singer’s funeral cortege will progress along the seafront in Bray.

The procession is set to go past Sinead’s home of 15 years on Montobello, Strand Road in Bray, Co Wicklow.

Sinead’s family issued a statement confirming the funeral details today, explaining how the singer had “loved” living in Bray.

They said: “With this procession, her family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love for her from the people of Co. Wicklow and beyond, since she left last week, to go to another place.

“Slán leat –  Me a go – ‘Ma’a salama,” the statement added.

The procession route will start at the Harbour Bar end of Strand Road and continue along the seafront to the other end of Strand Road, with Sinead’s family then continuing on to a private burial.

Mourners have been asked to gather along the Bray seafront from 10.30am to say their final farewells on to Sinead.

Met Police confirmed last week that the singer’s death was not being treated as suspicious.

They said: “Police were called at 11:18hrs on Wednesday, 26 July to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address in the SE24 area.

“Officers attended. A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”

The London Inner South Coroners’ Court has since confirmed an autopsy has been carried out.

However, the statement said results revealing a “medical cause of death” may not be available for “some weeks”.

Court chiefs also explained results will be released to the public if an inquest is opened into Sinead’s death.
