Queen Camilla shares her ‘favourite’ meal

Queen Camilla has likely sampled some of the finest cuisine in the world – all over the world.

However, when it comes to her favourite dishes, the Queen really likes to take things back to basics.

For You Magazine, Camilla spoke to her son and esteemed food writer Tom Parker Bowles about her foodie habits.

She shared that restaurants are a way she can spend time with her children – “they pick the restaurants, I pay the bill”.

But her favourite food is wildly surprising, as it’s quick, easy, cheap to make and likely something many non-royals will have eaten in the past week.

She said: “One of my favourite foods is baked beans on toast. Always Heinz.”

BBC Good Food is in agreement – the “perfect” beans on toast are Heinz Baked Beanz.

The food media platform also suggested sprinkling grated cheese on top according to taste.

Another one of Queen Camilla’s favourites is “freshly cooked fish and chips wrapped in paper”.

This suggests that the royal is partial to a beachy getaway to experience the delight of seaside fish and chips.

Frozen chips don’t quite cut the mustard for Camilla. She said: “You cannot beat proper fish and chips.”

For her “last supper” Camilla wouldn’t opt for either, however, but instead her own asparagus with “lots of butter”.

She would also have a portion of Angela Hartnett’s risotto – “I love her cooking” and Dover sole meunière with ratte potatoes and fresh broad beans and peas from the garden.

Camilla would then indulge in a bowl of bitter chocolate ice cream, strawberries, raspberries and “lots of clotted cream”.

The Queen would indulge in a “really good glass of red claret” or even two, considering it’s her last supper.
