PSA: M&S's Perfect Cold-Weather Jacket Just Got Restocked Overnight

If there’s one thing I love about my role as Who What Wear UK’s shopping editor, it’s predicting what I think will be the next big best seller, and it’s even more exciting when it’s an affordable high-street find.

As such, I spend great deal of time scouring through the new-in sections of your favourite shops (partly to save you the time and energy), and often I’ll come across a buzzy new find or a hidden restock that deserves your immediate attention. This week, Marks and Spencer’s extensive new-in section has been full of hidden treasures that I know you’re going to love, and one piece in particular has been trending on socials, too.

This summer has proven to be very difficult to dress for, and the confusing mix of sunshine spells, gale-force winds and heavy downpours means I don’t know whether to reach for a summer dress or a cosy knit when I get dressed the morning. So, I’m pleased to report that M&S has the ideal transitional solution, and it’s a light layer you can continue to wear into autumn and winter. Enter: the bomber jacket.

Branded content editor Rebecca Rhys-Evans wears Marks and Spencer’s Relaxed Bomber.

Remember the Frankie Shop Astra Bomber that Instagram became instantly obsessed with? And the controversial Loewe bomber that Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner were both immediately pictured in? It’s clear that according to the fashion crowd, the bomber is the coolest jacket since the leather biker, and getting the right one is the perfect way to make sure your summer outfit is ready for anything (drizzle included). And M&S’s affordable bomber has been a best-selling success since it first landed.

You will have spotted the original Padded Bomber in Navy (£89) popping up on some of Instagram’s best dressed, and although it sold out almost immediately, new colourways have been introduced (hello, toffee!), and the lighter version, the Relaxed Bomber, is an easy-to-wear wonder that deserves a spot in your wardrobe for the season ahead.

Liv Madeline wears the Relaxed Bomber in Navy.

Whilst I keep spotting the jacket worn with a simple tank top and jeans, it would also look great with a breezy summer dress and sandals for the rest of summer (if the sun decides to return at all), and a turtleneck, midi skirt and knee-high boots in autumn. Now that’s what I call versatility.

So, if you’re looking for a jacket that you can throw on as soon as the sky start looking grey, keep scrolling to shop the expensive-looking M&S jacket we’re backing as this year’s transitional hero. But be warned, it won’t stick around for long.

I’m obsessed with this brand new colourway.

This will add a pop of colour to a neutral outfit.

An influencer and editor favourite.

How expensive does this look?

The indigo wash looks so expensive.

Chic trench coats never go out of style.

There’s no need to spend four figures on a leather jacket when a faux version looks this good.

I love the belted waist.

M&S does premium quality so well.

How to master French-girl styling in just one jacket.

This is giving laid-back luxe.

I want to copy this entire look, starting with the coat.

Waistcoats have to be the breakout trend of the year so far.

Just add a white tee and black maxi skirt.
