Prince Harry, Meghan Markle won’t join royals to honor Queen Elizabeth II

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly not invited to join the royal family at Balmoral Castle to honor the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Multiple sources claim the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received no “outreach” from senior royals to attend the tribute event on September 8 despite the couple’s plans to appear in Düsseldorf, Germany for their Invictus Games the day after.

“If they are not included in any of those plans they will find a way to mark the significance in their own way,” an insider told The Sun.

King Charles III, 74, and Queen Camilla, 76, are set to commemorate the longest-reigning British monarch at the Scottish estate surrounded by family members including disgraced Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Other royals expected to stay at Balmoral this year include Prince William, 41, and Kate Middleton, also 41, and their three kids — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — as well as Prince Edward, his wife Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh and their two kids: Lady Louise Windsor, and James, Viscount Severn.

Sources claim that the Sussexes’ absence could have something to do with the continued feud between Harry and his brother William over his bombshell memoir “Spare” as well as his many interviews bashing the royal family.

“You can read the room on that as to where things are [between them],” a source said, adding that it is understood Harry and William have not had any contact with each other.

Meanwhile, the Duke of York, who has ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, is due to stay on the Balmoral property along with the Duchess of York and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and their own respective families.

While the decision to allow Andrew, 63, to attend the Balmoral event was a topic of discussion considering his scandalous past, a source explained that it’s quite possible he won’t be interacting with other royals.

“There are a large number of properties around the estate so not everyone needs to stay at Balmoral Castle itself,” an insider explained.

Meanwhile, Ferguson, 63, has made the cut after notably being left off the guest list for Charles’ coronation.

Others lined up to attend the memorial include Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, her kids Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, both their families, and Charles’s cousin, Lady Sarah Chatto.

Balmoral Castle was widely believed to be Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite residence and where she ultimately passed away at the age of 96 on Sept. 8, 2022.

While Harry, 38, and Markle, 42, attended his grandmother’s funeral together on Sept. 19. 2022, they have since kept their distance from the Firm, with the red-headed royal flying solo across the pond to attend his father’s coronation ceremony in May.

Their venture over to Germany will be the pair’s first joint European appearance since the late Queen’s funeral.

The former royals reside in Montecito, Calif., with their two kids, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, who have royal titles despite their parents resigning from their royal duties in 2020.

Reps for Markle and Harry did not immediately respond to Pace Six’s request for comment.
