The Belfast Telegraph are reporting that Jonny Evans is close to signing a one-year deal with Manchester United.
The Northern Irishman would become the club’s fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Hojlund.
Evans left United in 2015 after winning three Premier League titles with the Red Devils and has been training with Ten Hag’s side to rebuild his fitness.
But he’s believed to have impressed on the training pitch and in the view of the United boss, has been good to have around the place helping the club’s youngsters.
United handed Evans, who was released by Leicester this summer, a temporary short-term contract earlier in pre-season so he could feature in pre-season friendlies against Lyon and Wrexham.
Now it looks as though he could be in line for a remarkable return to Old Trafford after leaving for West Brom in 2015.
