Kelly Ripa had to abandon her spot on the “Live” desk after popping a button while playing with puppies on Tuesday.
After a segment, in which Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos learned all about dog grooming, the longtime host realized that one of the buttons on her black jumpsuit was missing.
“I hope one of the dogs didn’t eat my button,” she told Consuelos.
Yet at the same time, one of her producers seemingly spotted the rogue fastener on the floor, prompting Ripa to jump out of her seat to retrieve it.
“Oh my gosh there it is! Let me get it,” the “All My Children” alum, 52, said while hopping out of frame.
Being the professional that she is, Ripa eased right into the next segment without drawing anymore attention to the issue once she fetched the button.

Thankfully for her, the small disk was only holding together the cuff of her shirt and it’s absence didn’t result in any major wardrobe malfunction.
However, the actress is no stranger when it comes to suffering more dramatic wardrobe malfunctions on air.
In May, the blond beauty had “a small wardrobe emergency” right before walking on stage while wearing a hot pink dress.
Although she never revealed exactly what went wrong, Ripa was seen frantically trying to tie the front of the frock as the show started.
“It was very exciting,” she teased. “I almost did not walk out here!”
Yet this wasn’t the first time that dress caused some problems for Ripa.
The month prior, the actress ripped that exact same dress while Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy taught the couple how to do the jive.
As Consuelos went to dip Ripa onto his knee, she popped a seam in the back of the pink outfit.
“Did the entire back of my dress rip?” Ripa asked as she sprang to her feet.
Once Consuelos reassured her that it was just a “little” tear, the pair were able to finish the dancing segment.
Then last month, the talkshow host nearly “turned green” after applying self-tanner just moments before stepping on stage.
Ripa said she felt a bit “pale” in her light pink dress and decided to spray on some instant tanner at the last minute — which she quickly realized wasn’t the best decision.
“I have green hands!” the actress exclaimed, flashing her palms at the camera.
Thankfully, she made it through the show without turning into Shrek.
