Wahi is keen to explore moving to a bigger club, but reports in France suggest the player harbours doubts regarding the plan to loan him to Strasbourg before he is assessed for the Chelsea first-team.
This summer the club have offloaded 17 players and raised £230m through their sales, whilst spending only £120m on players for Mauricio Pochettino.
But only two of those players, Nicolas Jackson and Axel Disasi, are likely to play a role in the first-team this season.
Other summer arrivals such as Angelo Gabriel and Lesley Ugochukwu are expected to join Strasbourg for this season after Boehly’s holding company completed their takeover in June.
