Fans left baffled Leno was allowed to play on

The Fulham goalkeeper suffered a nasty eye injury during their game against Liverpool.

His eye seemed to swell up and close over during the match but was allowed to play on after receiving treatment on the pitch.

And fans have been left baffled at how the goalkeeper was allowed to play on!

Half-time in our 2pm fixtures

It’s half-time in all of our 2pm fixtures.

Ten-men Chelsea lead brighton 2-1 at Stamford Bridge, with Fernandez and Colwill giving the Blues an early lead.

They were delt a huge blow after Conor Gallagher was sent off after he was given a second yellow card for a careless tackle on Gilmour.

Meanwhile, Fulham have pulled two goals back against Liverpool, despite two stunning efforts from Mac Allister and Alexander-Arnold, with Wilson and Tete scoring for Fulham.

West Ham lead Crystal Palace 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kudus while Bournemouth and Aston Villa are currently level 1-1.

The goal will not stand!

What a game this has been, Palhinha’s header was pushed away by Kelleher, but it falls to Ream who pokes the ball into the back of the net.

But he was clearly offside in the build up and the goal is chalked!

Fulham have the ball in the back of the net again!

Ream looks like he’s scored again for Fulham, but the referee has signaled this will be reviewed by VAR.

GOAL! LIVERPOOL 2-2 FULHAM!

Klopp will not be happy about that! Kenny Tete pokes the ball into the back of the net from close-range following a corner, but the flag was raised for offside.

After a long VAR review, the goal is given!

Gallagher sees red!

Things going from bad to worse for Chelsea here as Conor Gallagher is shown a second yellow card for bringing down Gilmour.

He slides in and catches the Brighton man, but just doesn’t need to make the challenge!

It’s a poor error of judgement from the Chelsea captain.

GOAL! CHELSEA 2-1 BRIGHTON!

Brighton are back in the game!

Lallana plays a neat pass to Buonanotte who drives forwards into the box before sliding the ball into the back of the net.

GOAL! LIVERPOOL 2-1 FULHAM

What a goal! It’s Alexis Mac Allister with a stunning strike with Jurgen Klopp going wild on the touchline.

Mac Allister is miles out from goal but sends the ball straight into the top-right corner.

Liverpool have had nine goal attempts against Fulham’s two, with the Reds also having five shots on goal.

Yet, Klopp was also just seen giving Darwin Nunez an earful for losing possession…

Conor Gallagher sees yellow

The chelsea captain is just a bit too competitive there.

He comes in to take the ball off Buonanotte, but stands on the ankle of the Brighton star, with some force too.

It’s careless and Gallagher looks disappointed with himself for conceding the foul.

GOAL! LIVERPOOL 1-1 FULHAM

Excellent goal from Fulham. Robinson breaks down the left channel before crossing to Wilson arriving in the penalty area to tap in the excellent cross.

With Alexander-Arnold pushing into midfield, teams have been able to capitalise on the extra space left on Liverpool’s right channel.

And that’s exactly what Robinson has done here, utilising his pace to fly down the wing and put a great ball in for Wilson.

Meanwhile, here’s a shot of Alexander-Arnold’s previous goal.

GOAL! CHELSEA 2-0 BRIGHTON!

Colwill adds the second on his return to the side! Nicolas Jackson heads a cross from a corner back into the six-yard box, where Colwill is waiting.

He sees the ball coming and nods in to double the lead.

Chelsea are all over Brighton at the minute and could have been a couple of goals up by now.

GOAL! LIVERPOOL 1-0 FULHAM

Alexander-Arnold puts Liverpool 1-0 up with a stunning goal from long–distance, curling the ball into the top right corner.

It’s a fantastic strike and there’s nothing Leno can do about that!

GOAL! CHELSEA 1-0 BRIGHTON!

Fernandez breaks the deadlock at Stamford Bridge.

A corner comes in with Badiashile keeping the ball alive at the far post.

He puts an overhead cross back into the six-yard box, with Fernandez rising high to head in.

A great start from Chelsea.

Bernd Leno suffers a nasty knock

Leno had dived at the feet of Diaz to stop him from advancing on goal but appeared to take a knock on the head during the challenge.

He stayed down before receiving some treatment before playing on.

There were some bloodied swabs left on the floor after his medical assessment.

GOAL! WEST HAM 1-0 CRYSTAL PALACE!

Things are starting to heat up now as West Ham take the lead at the london Stadium.

Soucek flies down the right side before crossing a great ball in to the penalty area.

Kudus is there to meet the cross and guides a right-footed shot past Johnstone in goal.

A great start for the Hammers!

Goal disallowed!

Mohamed Salah looked like he had the ball in the back of the net for Liverpool there.

It would have been his 200th Liverpool goal. It came after Bernd Leno had deflected a shot off to Luis Diaz, who passed to Salah, but the Colombian was ruled offside in the build up to the goal.

GOAL! BOURNEMOUTH 1-0 ASTON VILLA

Anoine Semenyo gets on the end of a pass inside the penalty area and fires the ball into the back of the net!

Chelsea corner

The Blues are starting to find their feet in this game, with Sterling advancing into the Brighton penalty area to force a corner.

He guides a pass across the face of the goal but it is intercepted by Baleba.

The ball comes in from the right side but Brighton manage to clear!

Quiet starts around the Premier League

No goals so far in any of our 2pm Premier League matches so far, and it’s also been a quiet start at West Ham.

The Irons are looking to secure their fifth straight win on the bounce this afternoon with a win against Crystal Palace!

Good start from Brighton

A good start from Brighton, they’ve taken possession early and have worked their way forwards to attack Chelsea.

Cole Palmer OUT of Chelsea’s starting XI

Palmer was not named in Chelsea’s starting eleven for today’s match after having picked up a knock in midweek.

Despite that, he’ll start on the bench today, after having a stand out season so far for Chelsea, while also making his senior international debut for England.

The 21-year-old has had a busy couple of months since joining Chelsea from Man City in the summer and considering how good he’s been for the Blues, should the Treble winners have sold him?

Klopp lauds Fulham star as one of the ‘greatest in Premier League history’

Ahead of their crunch Premier League meeting against Fulham this afternoon, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has lauded one Fulham star. as ‘the greatest players the Premier League ever saw’.

He added on Fulham’s manager: ‘Marco is a top manager, he’s doing a brilliant job in a strong league, I’m not saying they are overachieving but they are doing particularly well and it’s a really good football team.

‘It’s just a good football team, well set up and it makes it special, and their little stadium there, they can create a proper atmosphere and we’ve had our struggles there.’

Iraola believes Villa will demand a ‘good level’ from Bournemouth

Ahead of Bournemouth’s clash against Aston Villa, Andoni Iraola belives his side will need to be on top form to beat today’s opposition.

‘I think we have been much better recently. We need a good level today because the opposition will demand it.

‘They are playing really well and have good forwards but I think we are in a good moment and have players who can damage them. I have faced Unai Emery a lot, especially as a player, and it’s going to be a tough challenge.’

Mauricio Pochettino gave his Chelsea team the hair dryer treatment following their 4-1 defeat by Newcastle.

Fulham make three changes from their team that beat Wolves, Willian drops to the bench along with Tom Cairney and Timothy Castagne.

Joao Palhinha returns alongside Kenny Tete and harry Wilson.

Brighton team news

Roberto De Zerbi has also made several changes to his side that played against AEK Athens in midweek.

Jaoao Pedro is omitted from the side with Ferguson set to lead the line for the Seagulls. Jan Paul van Hecke also comes into the side along with Carlos Baleba.

Chelsea team news

Mauricio Pochettino has made several changes to his Chelsea teamt to take on Brighton today.

In defence Axel Disasi comes in for Marc Cucrella while Levi Colwill replaces the suspended Reece James.

Pochettino reveals he had a one-on-one meeting with Moises Caicedo

Amid his inconsistent recent form, Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he had a one-one-one meeting with Moises Caicedo in a bid to help the Ecuadorian improve his form.

Pochettino said: ‘Before this press conference, he was in my office for twenty minutes. It is easy because we speak Spanish. It is a subconscious process and that is a problem – only in time can you adapt.’

Will the Ecuadorian start today? Find out in just a moment as we’ll have all the latest team news from each club coming up next!

And Fulham are in the house at Anfield!

Fulham are interestingly without a win against teams who begin this weekend’s fixtures in the top half of the Premier League table.

But Liverpool will need to expect Fulham to battle right to the end, with Marco Silva’s side having scored eight of their last nine Premier League goals in the second half of games this season.

Gakopo at the double!

Cody Gakpo scored a brace of goals during Liverpool’s 4-0 win against LASK in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Reds are in decent fettle at the moment, but will be hoping for more consistency having won just two of their last five matches across all competitions.

Despite that, Liverpool will be buoyed by their 1-1 draw against Man City last weekend at the Etihad and Klopp will be looking for more of the same this afternoon.

In their past five meetings, Liverpool have only been beaten by Fulham once, with the Merseyside club winning two of those five fixtures, drawing the rest.

Fulham, meanwhile, come into this match off the back of a dramatic 3-2 win against Wolves, which saw the Cottagers be awarded a last-minute penalty by VAR – a decision which has been vehemently slammed by Wolves boss Gary O’Neil this week.

A peek inside Chelsea’s dressing room…

Winless in their last two matches, Chelsea come into today’s clash at Stamford Bridge 11th in the table and needing a win.

Mauricio Pochettino admitted this week that he gave his players the hair dryer treatment after their 4-1 defeat by Newcastle, but they face an equally stern test today against Brighton.

In their last five meetings, Chelsea and Brighton have beaten eachother twice, drawing their only other game.

But the Blues have only won one of their last five league matches and trail their visitors by six points.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side, in stark contrast, haven’t lost in their last five outings.

But Brighton have suffered several injury blows this season, and will be without Ansu Fati and Tariq Lamptey for some time.

Will Jarrod Bowen start today?

The West Ham forward has been out of action for the past two games after picking up a minor injury during the last international break.

We’ve just seen him walking down the side of the pitch with his West Ham team-mates and it’s a good sign that the England star could be ready to make his comeback from injury.

Bowen has been pivotal for the Irons this year, scoring nine goals in 16 appearances across all competitions.

While West Ham have won both of the games he has been absent for, they come up against a tough Crystal Palace team today, who are gunning to end a two-match losing streak.

Good afternoon!

Hello and welcome to our live blog for this afternoon’s Premier League matches!

We’ve got a big day of action coming up with four games kicking off at 2.00pm this afternoon.

Chelsea are hoping to undo the disappointment of their 4-1 defeat by Newcastle last week as they host Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

Brighton come into the match off the back of a good run of form, with the Seagulls having not lost in their last five outings across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also in action this afternoon as they welcome Fulham to Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s side sealed a 4-0 win against LASK in midweek, while Fulham come into this match off the back of a 3-2 win against Wolves that has sparked plenty of discussions around VAR.

West Ham are also back in action this afternoon against London rivals Crystal Palace, with Jarrod Bown eyeing up a potential return from injury.

And lastly Bournemouth host high-flying Aston Villa, as the Cherries look to claim their third win on the bounce.

Stay with us as we’ll have all the latest news, reaction and commentary from this afternoon’s matches.
