‘Brilliant’ beach is one of the UK’s best and is ideal for beach combing | Travel News | Travel

A beautiful beach in Wales’ stunning Pembrokeshire region has been named as one of the UK’s best beaches.

In the ranking from the team at AA, the gorgeous and wild spot was ranked as the third best beach in the UK.

While the best beach was also a pretty spot in Wales, Freshwater West Beach grabbed a deserved third place on the list.

The beach is dog friendly, has lifeguard services and a carpark and is situated close to Castlemartin village.

Freshwater West Beach is also a top destination for Harry Potter fans, as it’s home to a Dobby shrine.

The small and rocky beach is a popular surfing spot but it’s only recommended for experienced surfers.

The water is rough so swimming isn’t advised. However, the beach is the perfect place for beachcombing.

A tourist ‘Kevin W’ wrote: “Just a fantastic beach to visit. It’s huge and gets some great wind across it. Brilliant for beachcombing and chilling out.”

Another tourist ‘Ben Hughes’ wrote: “Lovely beach to take dogs or just walk along. Main attraction being Dobby’s grave.”

‘Sam S’ said: “Wow! One of our favourite beaches from our visit to Pembrokeshire. Beautiful soft golden sand, nice waves if you want to surf.”

If a tropical paradise beach appeals more, why not visit the best beach in Scotland which could be mistaken for the Caribbean?
