Arsenal set to complete transfer ‘in next 48 hours’ as agreement reached | Football | Sport

“Right now he’s at the club and then we will find the best to do. I think it’s natural that he would like to leave if it’s a good opportunity for him. We all think it’s a good idea at the right price. That probably means going towards that and focusing on the other keepers we have, I think that is completely natural.”

Having had their initial bid for Raya rejected, Arsenal are expected to come to a compromise with Brentford without meeting the Bees’ £40m valuation, having already spent £200m this summer.

Raya will join Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber as new Arteta additions should the two clubs be able to put the final touches on the deal, providing further competition for Ramsdale as the Gunners look to go one better this season and topple Manchester City.
