Deprived of Stade de France by the 2024 Olympics, the Blues will play in (almost) the whole country

The 2024 Olympic Games will not only turn the daily lives of Parisians upside down. The Football (FFF) and Rugby (FFR) Federations must adapt their calendar, for lack of being able to use the Stade de France, unavailable for many months before the Olympics for works.

This Thursday, the executive committee of the FFF unveiled the choice of cities which will host the A and women’s matches next season. 16 of the 31 cities that had applied were selected, says the Fed.

A last match in Saint-Denis in November

As part of the Euro 2024 qualifications, Didier Deschamps’ team will host Ireland on September 7 at the Parc des Princes, and Gibraltar on November 18 at the Stade de France, which will not see the big Blues again for nearly one year. Other meetings are scheduled (friendly or play-off against opponents to be determined), in Lille (October 17, 2023), Lyon and Marseille (March 2024), Bordeaux and Metz (June 2024).

For their part, the Bleues of Hervé Renard, used to playing in the provinces, will play in the League of Nations on September 22 in Valenciennes against Portugal, on October 31 in Reims against Norway, on November 30 in Rennes against Austria. Meetings in Sochaux, Metz and Saint-Etienne are also on the program, respectively in February, April and June 2024.
