Delivery Hero – food delivery company plans profit – economy

The food delivery service Delivery Hero wants to make its entire business profitable in the next year. “We want to be in a position to break even at corporate level in 2023,” said Delivery Hero boss Niklas Östberg. The food delivery business is expected to break even this year on the basis of an adjusted operating result (Ebitda). This means that the Berlin-based Dax group would have largely secured the group’s profitability: “Measured against the last quarterly report, food deliveries make up around 90 percent of our business,” said Östberg. However, a lot could still happen, he added. Most recently, Delivery Hero invested a lot of money in expanding the fast delivery business with supermarket items known as Quick Commerce. After taking over the Spanish competitor Glovo, Östberg is reluctant to make further acquisitions. “We don’t need any acquisitions,” says the company boss.
