It was perfectly clear that Infantino’s Fifa would intervene in the One Love armband debate. To trust the World Federation to solve real problems borders on willful naivety.

Once again, Mr. Infantino managed a nice target shot out of the hedge. His Fifa, currently deployed as a protection force in Qatar, ended the whole woke theater with a bang, with which well-meaning soccer stars and their associations from the West wanted to make a statement for human rights – that is, for what Fifa also refers to in its regulations committed.
