How irrelevant the circumstances sometimes are in the moment of success. A dimly lit gymnasium with wooden benches, graffiti and transverse heating pipes is the place of greatest happiness for Germany’s female basketball players. And maybe this 92:61 had to happen in this environment of all places, in the Ilidza Cultural & Sports Center in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo. Glamor and sparkling arenas are not necessarily the thing in German women’s basketball.
