Daring Stunt: Cousins swap planes mid-air

Watch the video: Airplane swaps in the air only work halfway.

It was a daring maneuver that the two cousins Luke Aikins and Andy Farrington from the US state of Arizona had undertaken. The two pilots had the plan to switch planes. And in the air. To do this, they each climbed into a small Cessna and flew it to an altitude of a good 4,200 meters. There they set their machines for a controlled dive and jumped off. While Aikins was successful in switching planes, Farrington was less fortunate. He couldn’t catch his cousin’s plane. Instead, he parachuted and landed safely. The safety mechanisms of the abandoned aircraft were then activated. However, the machine was damaged on landing. After all: Neither the pilots nor other people were injured in the risky manoeuvre.
