Danone announces the signing of a fair contract with dairy farmers

While the period of inflation is not seen for decades in France, a subsidiary of Danone announces the signing of a fair contract on Monday. Le Prés Rient Bio, a subsidiary of the French giant which markets Les 2 Vaches, announces this unprecedented contract in the French organic sector, according to our colleagues at JDD. It concerns 50 organic breeders in Normandy.

This new contract includes all milk production costs in the floor price. This also includes variables such as the climate or inflation. Signed for five years renewable, it also includes a 10% safety margin.

A minimum average disposable income of two Smic

It should make it possible to secure a minimum average disposable income of two Smic while the producers demanded price increases to take account of the increase in production costs.

The French number 1 in the food industry Lactalis recently revealed the composition of the selling price of a Camembert: half goes to the dairy producer, 22% to the processor, 18% to the distributor, to which is added 10% taxes.
