Due to the increased risk of forest fires, the government of Lower Bavaria has ordered aerial observation flights in the east of the administrative district for Tuesday and Wednesday. The reason is the expected summer temperatures in the next few days, the district government announced on Monday in Landshut.
According to the information, volunteer pilots from the Bavaria Air Rescue Squadron will take off in the afternoon from the bases Arnbruck (Regen district), Eggenfelden (Rottal-Inn district), Vilshofen (Passau district) and Wallmühle (Straubing-Bogen district). The government also appealed to the population not to use open flames or smoke in forests or their surrounding areas.
