Putting mice and rhymes together isn’t a bad idea. Just as the small animals can connect the most distant things for a moment with their tripping steps, the small language elements also manage to show the closeness of connection and harmony. The poet Peter Rühmkorf once described it this way. Rühmkorf even assumed that there was something like an innate desire for rhymes, which is due to so-called resonance nerves and which is already expressed in the first sound doubling such as “Mama”, “Lala” or “Dada”.
