Dad Jeff models for his daughter’s Instagram account – in her self-crocheted tops
You have to have that much humor and self-confidence first: 53-year-old Jeff from Arkansas allowed his daughter Emily to persuade him to present her crocheted creations. Now he’s a star on the internet.
Your own children are of course the best, smartest, most beautiful and most talented – hopefully all parents see it that way, even if, viewed rationally, it may not be entirely correct. In any case, you should support and encourage your own offspring as much as you can—and one Arkansas father right now puts other parents in the shade when it comes to self-sacrifice for the child.
Speaking of Jeff, the 53-year-old father has found unexpected fame after complying with a request from his daughter Emily. 28-year-old Emily Beaver has been crocheting with great enthusiasm since 2015.
Eventually, she got so good at it that she began designing and making creative garments of her own. In 2021 she decided to sell her creations in her own online shop, which she promoted on Instagram and TikTok – just like young people do today. But she still needed models for that…
Dad fills in as a model for daughter’s designs
First, the 28-year-old demonstrated her crochet tops, skirts and shorts herself. Then she recruited her mother, Amy, too. The fans liked it so much that Emily got another idea: she also wanted to lure her dad in front of the camera.
Now, Jeff is not a person who overly values fashion. He’s a typical man in his mid-fifties: gray hair, laugh lines, glasses. And actually he had never seen himself as an extroverted guy who felt comfortable in unconventional clothes in front of a camera.
But his daughter managed to persuade him. At least once he wanted to do her the favor, as a little gag. Because Emily’s designs are clearly aimed at a hip, young target group: colorful, mostly cropped, pretty tight.
Nothing a man like Jeff would normally wear. But the father’s brave appearance on Emily’s social media channels created such enthusiasm that after the first modeling job he couldn’t think of any real arguments to talk his way out of a second or third one. Fans loved Jeff and wanted to see him model more.
Parents made Emily’s clothes popular
“The internet just loved it. Every time I brought my parents over, I realized how special it is for a family to present crochet crop tops together,” Emily explained in a television interview.
Thanks to her supportive parents, she now not only has almost 30,000 followers on Instagram and 600,000 fans on TikTok, but also sells a lot of crochet products. At first, hardly anyone wanted it – now it can hardly keep up with the many orders. She was able to give up her regular job because the income from her online shop is now enough to live on.
Hopefully the enthusiastic parents will occasionally get a bouquet of flowers or a bottle of wine as a thank you for their commitment…
