International Women’s Day on March 8th is an opportunity to look at the equality of men and women. There is still room for improvement in the workplace: women earn less, hold management positions less often and remain true to traditional “women’s jobs”. After all, women also teach there in male-dominated areas: Beate Rudolph, 59, heads the metal technology department for vending machine specialists, vehicle mechatronics technicians and systems mechanics for sanitary, heating and air-conditioning technology. And Ramona Rieger, 44, is a teacher for wood technology and carpentry.
