Dachau – Support for cultural workers – Dachau

The Rotary Club Dachau has brought out a calendar that is intended to make artists from the city and the district visible and at the same time to support them financially in these difficult times. And because there are a total of 15 artists, the calendar for the coming year contains not only 12 months, but even three additional months – until March 2023.

The artists come from a wide variety of art fields: visual arts, photography and film, music, performance and theater. It is no easy task for the Rotary Club Dachau to put this diversity into a calendar. But the artists and the graphic artist Martin Off from Leporello have turned it into a very special art calendar. You could almost say: the calendar is a work of art in its own right.

The artists whose works can be seen in the calendar are the winners of the art competition that the Rotary Club Dachau announced this year. The aim of the competition was to support the artists in the difficult Corona year when there were no concerts, exhibitions and theater. But the Rotary Club Dachau not only wanted to provide financial support, but also to make the works of art visible, with an exhibition that took place in June of this year. This art calendar is also intended to combine both, the visibility of art and the artists and financial support.

The lockdown is over, the corona crisis is not yet. The artist’s losses are still noticeable. All the proceeds from the calendar sale will therefore benefit the artists in the city and district. It costs 15 euros and can be purchased in the following shops: In Dachau in the Subtext bookstore, in the candisserie, in “Der Rahmen” and in the Oberen Apotheke. You can find the calendar in the Aigner accounting department in Odelzhausen, in the Glonntal pharmacy in Vierkirchen and in the Grieser butcher’s shop. In Markt Indersdorf you can find the calendar at Scribo, Tine’s Handarbeitsstüberl at the Gottschalk gardening market and in Hebertshausen at Wallner’s Ökomarkt.
