Ioanna Taigacheva works as a volunteer at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial. Because of the invasion of Russian troops in the Ukraine, the Russian cannot and does not want to go back home. About a situation between turmoil, determination and hope.
It’s cold on this November day and the surroundings don’t warm you up. The barbed wire, the watchtowers, the entrance gate, the lettering “Work sets you free” – the Dachau concentration camp memorial. Small groups of students are led across the site. Ioanna Taigacheva is standing in front of around ten young people, with her shoulders hunched and her hands in her sleeves.
