There are almost 300 fruit trees in public areas in Dachau, and anyone who likes can pick the ripe fruit. Due to the long drought, however, the yields are meager this year. In Dachau-Süd there are apples, pears, quinces, greengage (a type of noble plum), sweet cherries, in Udling there are also pears and mirabelle plums. Apples, pears, mirabelle plums, quince, greengage, sour and sweet cherries and walnuts grow on the windmill behind Steinkirchen. Picking is not permitted on the adjacent private areas. There are also apple trees in the herb garden and in Pullhausen the whole range, including walnuts. The areas may not be driven on and dogs must also be kept away from them. Only as much as you need in the household should be harvested.
