Czech exhibition commemorates German citizens before 1945 – politics

Viktoria Großmann, Ústí nad Labem

Where’s Ferdinand Porsche? The question seems to be a real concern of the gray-haired man with the glasses. For almost two hours he was guided through the exhibition “Our Germans” with a small group of visitors. If the deputy exhibition director Tomáš Okurka hadn’t skipped the first rooms and centuries, the tour would have been even longer. Because the show in Ústí nad Labem (German: Aussig an der Elbe) shows the coexistence of German-speaking and Czech-speaking Bohemians, Moravia and Silesia for around 800 years.
