Cyrille Picard, suspected of having killed his 10-year-old daughter, is the most wanted man in Europe

“Help us find Cyrille Picard!” » During its annual communications campaign, the Europol agency designated this man, aged 54, as “the most wanted fugitive in Europe”. He is suspected of having killed, on May 12, 2022, his 10-year-old daughter, found asphyxiated at the family home, in Veigy-Foncenex, in Haute-Savoie, near the Swiss border.

“He has been on the run since that day,” said police commissioner Guillaume Lacassin, head of the fugitive search brigade, in a video posted on social networks. The last trace that investigators have of it dates from three days after the events. This father was seen in Charente-Maritime and abandoned his vehicle there. He has since been untraceable and is the subject of an international arrest warrant. He is likely to have fled by sail.

The “most wanted” device

Cyrille Picard is around 176 cm tall and has blue eyes. According to the description on the Europol website, it is considered “dangerous”. “He knows how to handle weapons and is capable of living with very few resources,” details his file. “Anywhere in France, Europe and beyond, if you believe you have information on an individual who may match the description of Cyrille Picard, contact us via the platform », further indicates Guillaume Lacassin in the video message.

Every year since 2016, Europol has launched a “most wanted” campaign. For this seventh edition, the European Police Office has decided to “highlight the superpowers of citizens” to track down fugitives and become “a hero”.
