Vingegaard before overall victory at Tirreno-Adriatico

Jonas Vingegaard is aiming to win the Tour de France for the third time in July. His form is currently appealing again.
Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard is already in good early form and is facing the Overall victory in the difficult Tirreno-Adriatico tour.
The Dane won the mountain finish up to Monte Petrano and successfully defended his blue jersey for first overall. Vingegaard will therefore be hard to beat on the relatively flat final stage on Sunday. For the 27-year-old, it would be the first victory in the long-distance cycling tour in Italy and a good test of form on the way to the Tour de France.
Lennard Kämna seventh on the day
On the sixth stage over 180 kilometers from Sassoferrato to Monte Petrano, a mountain of the highest category, Vingegaard had a lead of 26 seconds at the finish over the Spaniard Juan Ayuso and the Australian Jai Hindley from the German Bora-hansgrohe team. The German hopeful Lennard Kämna, who wants to get in shape for the Giro d’Italia, showed improving form as seventh on the day.
Vingegaard is now 1:24 minutes ahead of Ayuso and 1:52 minutes ahead of Hindley in the overall standings. Kämna is 4:02 minutes back in eighth place. On Sunday, the 154 kilometer long section with start and finish in San Benedetto del Tronto awaits the end, which only has some difficulties in the first half of the race.
