Cycling. O Gran Camino – Vingegaard the 4th stage, the general! Martinez and Bernal podium

The same copy as in 2023 for Jonas Vingegaard : three steps and the general! This is a 4th and final stage ofO Gran Camino once again truncated by the conditions extreme weather that the runners had to face this Sunday, so much so that no television broadcast made it possible to follow the race. The route, shortened by 162.2 has 132 km, ultimately offered only one ascent of the justice of the peace of the day, theAlto de San Xiao – Monte Aloia (7 km at 8%), instead of the two initially planned. But this arrival at the summit nonetheless remained the most selective of the event, and under a real deluge, as one might expect, the yellow jersey Vingegaard who raised his arms for the 3rd time in a row in Galicia, the Dane thus achieving the same perfect start to the season as last year. Vingegaard dominates the climb, followed by Lenny Martinezthen a trio formed by Hugh Carthy, Egan Bernal And Jefferson Cepeda.

Vingegaard, the chaotic 4th stage, the hat trick, the general

Lenny Martinez best of the “others” behind the untouchable Vingegaard!

From what we were able to follow, the leader of the Visma | Lease a Bike easily won at the end of a very classic hill climb, the victory logically coming down to the ultimate difficulty given the difficult conditions. After the peloton resumed breakaways, Vingegaard attacked 3 miles from the summit and was not seen again, as in previous days. Behind the untouchable winner of Tour de Francewe find an excellent Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ), came alone in second position, just 16″ seconds behind!

The young Frenchman pushes the rest of the competition quite far, since Hugh Carthy (EF Education-EasyPost) completes the podium at 45 seconds, just ahead Egan Bernal (INEOS Grenadiers). Cian Uijtdeboreks (Visma | Lease a Bike) is 6th, Quentin Pacher 9th, while David Gaudu exploded (35th at 3’47”). In the general classification, Vingegaard is necessarily at the top for the 2nd year in a row, and is ahead of Lenny Martinez by 1’55”, with Egan Bernal taking the last step of the podium. Great performance from Quentin Pacher, 7th overall at the end of this difficult event.
