Curt Cress: “Drummers are the statics of timing”

Curt Cress, drummer on countless Rock and Pop albums, about the reputation of his profession – and the arts of his colleagues Phil, Udo and Ringo.

Mr. Cress, you are said to have worked as a studio musician on more than 12,000 recordings. Hard to believe.
Right but. I checked this with my team for licensing reasons.

You are now over 70. How long have you been playing drums?
For 60 years. I started when I was eleven. My parents were hoteliers and there was a lot of music played at various events in our house. As a small child, I was particularly fascinated by the glittering drums on stage; I wanted to sit there!
