Curry, Durant… LeBron James wants to send a team of stars to Panama

After a disappointing World Cup, the injured American beast is preparing to strike hard in view of the Paris 2024 Olympics. According to The Athletic and ESPN, LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant could lead Team USA in the next Olympics. So no more nonsense.

Double Olympic champion, titled four times in the NBA, LeBron James would try to convince other superstars of the North American basketball league to join the team which will try in Paris to win Olympic gold for the fifth consecutive time, according to website The Athletic.

The ESPN channel adds that among the players likely to accompany him, guard Stephen Curry – career record holder for the number of 3-point shots in the NBA, and four times champion – would like to wear the jersey of the American Olympic team in Paris trained by her coach at the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr.

The Athletic suggests that LeBron James would have notably called Curry and another former MVP (best player) of the league, the slender Phoenix Suns winger Kevin Durant, to convince them to follow him in the Parisian adventure. Durant, who turns 35 on September 29, was on the American team that won gold in London, but also in Rio in 2016 and Tokyo in 2021.

Tatum, Davis and Chris Paul cited

Among the other players “recruited” by James for the Paris Games, according to The Athletic, include his Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, Boston Celtics winger Jayson Tatum and Warriors interior Draymond Green. ESPN also quotes point guard Chris Paul, just transferred to Golden State, and his ex-Suns teammate Devin Booker.

The American team, made up mainly of young players and without any superstars, returned empty-handed from the Basketball World Cup won by Germany, after losing the match for 3rd place to Canada.
