Drunk Australian stuck under truck for 400 kilometers
Actually, a tipsy Australian just wanted to ride under a truck for a few kilometers for free. But then there was a green wave.
Instead of Coffs Harbour, 30 minutes away, the drunkard ended up on the Gold Coast in Queensland, the AAP news agency reported on Wednesday, citing police. The 43-year-old later stated that he had hoped to jump off the frame at a red light on the Pacific Highway. However, the truck driver caught a green wave that let him roll straight into Queensland without any annoying traffic lights.
Stunned officials
It wasn’t until four hours later that he stopped his truck again for the first time – and watched in amazement as his passenger climbed out of the undercarriage. The officers who were called were stunned when they heard that the man had traveled the entire route in the chassis, it was said. He explained that he was quite stressed after the long and uncomfortable journey.
He has to pay a fine of 288 Australian dollars (173 euros) for his action. “Police then took the man to Coomera train station for the long journey back south,” police said.
