Cum-Ex: 343 million indictment in Munich – Economy

It is one of the toughest tax charges ever in Munich. Tax cases are not that rare in Bavaria’s state capital. Two businessmen, Mr. K. and U., are said to have evaded taxes totaling 343 million euros for the benefit of their group of companies through allegedly criminal stock deals. According to the Munich I public prosecutor’s office, the two suspects each received 16 million euros as “loot”. 343 million euros is a multiple of what landed star chef Alfons Schuhbeck in prison in the most recent high-profile case in Munich. The culinary artist, who also provided culinary services to FC Bayern Munich, was sentenced to three years and two months in prison for tax evasion amounting to 2.3 million euros.
