CSU General Secretary Blume: “The SPD is a kind of sham”

The Union team for the federal election will not be shaken, even in the face of lower polls, said CSU General Secretary Blume tagesschau24. The SPD with Chancellor candidate Scholz is a serious opponent – and a sham.

The Union’s election campaign has started, but the polls of the sister parties have recently fallen. For CSU General Secretary Markus Blume, however, this is no reason to change anything in the team and program: The question of replacing Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet with Markus Söder is not in the room, he said in the tagesschau24-Interview. You have to do everything together now, “so that the wind does not blow from the front, but soon again from behind”.

Blume currently sees the SPD with Chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz as the main opponent. However, the party did not push itself forward on its own. “It is all the more important to point out what is actually hidden behind the SPD.” The SPD is a kind of sham: Scholz is in the lead as a candidate for chancellor. But there are also many other personalities in the SPD who are currently being hidden as much as possible, such as deputy party chairman Kevin Kühnert or chairwoman Saskia Esken.

But at the Greens you can see how quickly a flight of highs can be over. They are not to be written off completely, but could “at least not build on their high phase”.

Blume continues to believe that deportations are correct

With regard to the Afghanistan mission, Blume said that it was now important that it went smoothly and that as many people as possible were brought out – especially those “who had fought alongside the German soldiers there in recent years”.

In his own words, Blume considers the previous deportations to be correct: “Humanity and order in migration policy must always come together.” For someone who tramples on the right to hospitality, there is no reason to prevent deportation. “Those who blatantly trample on the willingness to help have to reckon with the full consequences. And in case of doubt that also means farewell.”
