Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein, eldest son of King Abdullah and Queen Rania, will marry on June 1. A lavish celebration is expected.

The aristocracy celebrates a new, young dream couple: On June 1, Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan (28), the eldest son of Queen Rania (52) and King Abdullah (61), marries his girlfriend Rajwa Al-Saif (29). Royals from all over the world come to the ceremony at the Zahran Palace in Amman.

According to the “Daily Mail” they have already confirmed their participation King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands (56), Queen Maxima (52) and eldest daughter Amalia (19). Crown Prince Frederik (54) and Crown Princess Mary (51) travel from Denmark, Crown Princess Victoria (45) and Prince Daniel (49) from Sweden. From Japan, Princess Taksmado (69) and her daughter Princess Tsuguko (37) are taking part.

The young crown prince, who was named after his grandfather, the legendary King Hussein (1935-1999), already has an extensive education behind him: he has a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, graduated from the Sandhurst Military Academy and is a captain in the Jordanian army. In September 2017, at the age of 22, he addressed the UN General Assembly. Hussein comes from one of the most prestigious families in the Arab world: He is considered a direct descendant in the 42nd generation of the Prophet Mohammed.

His bride, Rajwa Al-Saif, is from Saudi Arabia. Her mother is related to the Saudi royal family; she studied in New York and Los Angeles.

Islamic rite wedding

The wedding ceremony takes place according to Islamic rites in the Zahran Palace in the capital Amman. King Adullah and Rania were also married there in 1993. Royals, politicians and VIPs from all over the world are expected at the subsequent reception in the 40-hectare Al Husseiniya Palace.

Queen Rania, the prince’s mother, made it clear via Instagram how happy she is about the weddingt. Posting a picture of the bride’s traditional henna party, she wrote, “Thank you to everyone who shared our joy.”
