Cristian Ghilli proudly shows three medals into the camera. He won it in May 2021 at the European Junior Championships in clay pigeon shooting. According to this, Ghilli was hunting with friends in a forest near Montecatini Val di Cecina (Province of Pisa). When he bent down for cartridges, a shot came off his weapon and hit him in the abdomen, reports the Italian newspaper “La Stampa”, among others.

He collapsed in front of the shocked hunting party. Despite immediately alerting the ambulance and transport to Cecina hospital, Ghilli died. According to the newspaper, the doctors could not have stopped Ghilli’s internal bleeding despite surgery.
