Four days before its first meeting against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-final, Paris Saint-Germain disappointed. The capital club, which could have been crowned champion of France with a victory, drew 3-3 against Le Havre at the Parc des Princes, Saturday April 27. A poor performance that occurred a few hours after BVB’s 4-1 defeat against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
45 minutes for several frames
Luis Enrique rested several executives, as usual. Certain or probable starters in Germany, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nuno Mendes, Lucas Hernandez and Fabian Ruiz were not even in the group. Unsurprisingly, Kylian Mbappé started on the bench. But unlike the match against Clermont before the reception of FC Barcelona, it was not a B team that was fielded. Indeed, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Warren Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé started at kick-off.
The playing time of most of these strong elements was nevertheless limited: Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola came off at half-time for Kylian Mbappé and Senny Mayulu; Marquinhos gave way at the hour mark for Milan Skriniar. On the other hand, Vitinha and Achraf Hakimi played the entire match.
Danilo missed out
In the game, the result confirms that PSG did not have a great match. Some good footage was seen, but the effort seemed less than usual. The pouring rain probably didn’t help.
Is this copy against the provisional 15th in Ligue 1, who had not won for five games, so worrying? Parisian supporters can be somewhat reassured by the fact that Danilo Pereira, the main culprit in Le Havre’s last two goals, will undoubtedly not be lined up against Dortmund. Same for Keylor Navas, who only stopped one shot on target.
In the clear reasons for satisfaction? The team’s desire to avoid defeat and the involvement of Achraf Hakimi, notably by scoring the 2-3 goal (78th) and being at the origin of the first equalizer signed Bradley Barcola (29th). And above all, no injuries have been reported.
