A strain, no question about it, and yet: For his state visit, Argentina’s president did not take the comfortable government plane that he was actually entitled to by virtue of his office, but rather demonstratively took a normal scheduled flight, as he did in January to the World Economic Forum in Davos. After all, it’s cheaper, and that’s what matters, said the 53-year-old, because he and his government also have to save money – just like all Argentines.
