A cyclist discovered the woman in a nature reserve early in the morning and informed the police. This now speaks of evidence of a homicide and determined.

The body of a woman was found in a nature reserve near Hamm. The autopsy showed that it was a younger woman who died violently, said a spokesman for the Dortmund public prosecutor.

However, their identity has not yet been 100% clarified. The “Westfälische Anzeiger” had previously reported on it.

According to police reports, a cyclist discovered the body on a path on Friday morning around 5.30 a.m. in the “Am Tibaum” nature reserve west of Hamm. The body was on fire at the time, the spokesman for the prosecutor said. A charred spot at the site can be seen on pictures published in the media.

The fire was not the cause of death, the spokesman said. “We assume that she had been dead for several days and that the body was only cremated there to remove traces,” he said. There was initially no information about the suspects. A homicide detective is investigating.
