The left-wing terrorist RAF has been disbanded. But three former members are still keeping investigators busy with robberies. “Case number XY… unsolved” has now taken up the case.

In the show “File number “We’re lucky that no one has been killed so far,” said Freudenberg.

The authorities accuse Ernst-Volker Staub (69), Daniela Klette (65) and Burkhard Garweg (55) of attempted murder and a series of serious robberies between 1999 and 2016. The crime scenes were therefore in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. The public prosecutor’s office assumes that the attacks were not politically motivated. The accused are said to have committed the crimes in order to get money. Further attacks are possible.

The public prosecutor’s office and the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office published a search call in advance on Friday with reference to the “File number XY… unsolved” program on ZDF. Before the broadcast, the authorities reported that 52 tips had been received that required further investigation.

Dust, burdock and Garweg are assigned to the so-called third RAF generation. Representatives of the generation are said to have killed the then head of Deutsche Bank Alfred Herrhausen and the trust boss Detlev Karsten Rohwedder. The RAF was disbanded in 1998.
