A woman was attacked on a bus and seriously injured. A suspect has now been arrested. Who is it?
The police arrested a suspect after the knife attack on a 33-year-old in a Berlin bus. The public prosecutor’s office in Berlin confirmed a corresponding report in the “Bild” newspaper on Good Friday.
The suspect was arrested on Friday night in Berlin-Wedding, said Sebastian Büchner, spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office. More information is expected to be announced on Friday afternoon. According to the “Bild” report, the attack was probably a relationship act.
The 33-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries in the knife attack last Tuesday and, according to the police, had to undergo emergency surgery. According to a report by “BZ”, the woman suffered injuries to her heart, lungs and stomach, among other things. She was operated on for ten hours. The police did not provide any information with reference to the ongoing investigation and possible knowledge of the perpetrator.
The 33-year-old was on the bus with her seven- and nine-year-old daughters. According to the police, the girls were not physically injured and are in the care of the family. A prior relationship between perpetrator and victim was originally ruled out.
