A 19-year-old is said to have killed three family members with a knife. His sister was seriously injured in the attack. In this case, many questions remain unanswered.

After the knife attack with three deaths in Hohentengen The High Rhine criminal police and public prosecutor’s office are continuing their investigations. Among other things, it concerns the motives of the 19-year-old suspect, who was taken into custody on Wednesday.

The young man is accused of attacking and killing his parents and his 34-year-old brother with a knife on Tuesday evening in the community in the Waldshut district of Baden-Württemberg.

The suspect’s sister suffered serious injuries in the attack but survived, investigators reported. The 19-year-old, who has German and Italian citizenship, is accused of three counts of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter.

Details of the crime remain open

Details of how the violent act took place in an apartment building in the Lienheim district of Hohentengen also initially remained open. The investigators did not comment in detail about the location of the incident, citing personal rights, and spoke of an “eastern district community in the Waldshut district.” According to dpa information, the bloody crime took place in Hohentengen. The community with around 4,000 people is located directly on the border with Switzerland.

According to investigators, the suspect’s parents, aged 58 and 61, died at the scene. The family lived in the apartment building. The suspect’s 34-year-old brother died in hospital as a result of his injuries. The sister was taken to a clinic in a rescue helicopter and was treated there.
