Covid report of December 25: more than 100,000 cases in 24 hours, a symbolic threshold never reached since the start of the pandemic

The latest report on the Covid-19 epidemic in France shows a record number of contaminations on December 25.

It’s a threshold symbolic which has just been crossed this December 25. Public Health France reports on Christmas Day of 104,611 contaminations at Covid-19.

An absolute record since the start of the pandemic and at a time when the French have flocked to tests to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This is 10,000 more cases per compared to yesterday.

There are currently 16,162 patients in the hospital, of which 3,282 are in intensive care. 84 new deaths linked to Covid-19 were also recorded this Saturday, bringing the total of deaths to at least 122,500 in France.

• The bar of 100,000 positive cases recorded in 24 hours in France has been reached for the first time (precisely 104,611, against 58,536 last Saturday).

• 72,999 cases are recorded every day on average (+ 41% in one week).
