RKI reports 215,854 new infections – incidence rises to 1319.0
The Robert Koch Institute reported 215,854 new infections within 24 hours. That’s 29,448 more cases than on Wednesday a week ago, when 186,406 positive tests were reported. Overall, the number of confirmed infections in Germany is more than 16.24 million. The nationwide seven-day incidence rises to 1319.0 from 1293.6 the previous day. 314 other people died in connection with the virus. This increases the number of reported deaths to 124,764.

South Korea records a daily high with over 340,000 new infections
South Korea reported a new high of 342,446 infections within 24 hours, according to the agency for disease control and prevention (KDCA). The KDCA announced that 158 other people died in connection with the virus.
