His profession means that Peter Maffay regularly socializes with people. In order not to endanger anyone, it was clear to him to get vaccinated. But he also shows understanding for those who think differently.

The musician Peter Maffay (72) has a clear opinion on vaccination against the corona virus. He feels that politics is worked with fear in order to achieve goals and set the course.

“That is definitely difficult for society,” he told the Berliner Zeitung (Saturday edition). “But I have a very clear position on vaccination: I am a musician, I socialize with people. If I am not vaccinated, I put these people at risk. “

“And because I have this job, there is no alternative to vaccinating for me,” said Maffay. “Ultimately, the decision whether to get vaccinated or not has to be made by everyone.” He also warned against judging others. “The background that makes you not do it is difficult to judge from the outside, you shouldn’t judge it straight away.”

But when you go out among people, like him as a musician, vaccination is an obligation. “There is no getting around it,” Maffay is quoted as saying. Everyone can decide differently. “But I think anyone who is not vaccinated cannot actually socialize.”

Maffay can be seen from Sunday in the new season of “Peter Maffay – Encounters”. There he speaks to moderator Thomas Gottschalk, among others. The format is shown for the MagentaTV streaming service.
