As little social contact as possible: Because this is again one of the most important rules in view of the number of infections in the Corona crisis, Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) announced stricter measures to combat pandemic this Friday. The city of Munich obviously wants to implement one of them quickly: possible alcohol bans in individual squares or in the pedestrian zone.
“It would have been absolutely incomprehensible on the one hand to cancel the Christmas market with its mulled wine stalls because of Corona, but at the same time to continue to allow alcohol consumption in places with many people,” said Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) in a press release on Friday. The bans could probably take effect as early as the middle of next week.
