Corona in Bavaria: Hotline for complaints after Covid vaccination – Bavaria

Anyone who has persistent health problems after a corona vaccination can contact the Free State’s new telephone hotline from this Monday. Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) in Munich announced on the hotline initiated by the Bavarian Ministry of Health for the so-called post-vac syndrome that persistent health problems after a Covid 19 vaccination occur only very rarely. The Free State does not leave those affected alone.

So far, they often don’t know who to turn to. In addition, there is a lot of misinformation out there on the internet. In principle, the Ministry of Health recommends that you first contact the doctor who gave the vaccination if you have symptoms after a vaccination. General practitioners are also important contact points. In addition, there are also so-called post-Covid or long-Covid outpatient clinics for particularly difficult cases.

According to the minister, little is known about the so-called post-vac syndrome. In addition, the term “post vac” does not yet represent a defined designation of a disease. This means a heterogeneous clinical picture that can occur at different intervals after the Covid 19 vaccination. The symptoms would be described in a similar way to Long-Covid, for example as fatigue syndrome or multisystem inflammatory syndrome.

According to the information, persistent symptoms after a vaccination remain the exception: Currently, for every 29 million corona vaccinations administered in Bavaria, there are 79 recognized vaccination damages. According to the current state of knowledge, the “post-vac syndrome” only seems to affect very few people, said Holetschek. The benefits of vaccination far outweigh the risks.
