Corona crisis – Iran opens up – journey

Corona crisis:Iran opens up

Fully vaccinated foreign tourists will be allowed to re-enter Iran from November. The visas are given to tourists when they enter the country, as the Ministry of Tourism announced. Iran had banned the entry of foreign tourists in April 2020 because of the corona pandemic. Tourism is an important source of income for the country. According to media reports, Iran had almost nine million foreign tourists a year before the Corona crisis. Nearly 120,000 corona deaths and over 5.5 million infections have been recorded in Iran since the pandemic broke out in February last year. In the last few weeks, however, there has been a slight relaxation. Health experts cite the import of foreign vaccines and the completion of domestic vaccines as the reason. According to the Ministry of Health, over 40 percent of the more than 83 million Iranians have now been vaccinated at least once and almost 20 percent twice.
