ConsenSys has announced the launch of a zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM). It’s coming up on the Testnet network on March 28th for stress testing of Layer 2 scaling technology.
The ConsenSys R&D team has been working on the release of zkEVM for the past four years. zkEVM will help deliver fast, high throughput, and secure payments on the Ethereum blockchain.

ConsenSys zkEVM is a masterpiece from the Infura, Truffle and MetaMask teams, as well as Besu and Gnark developers, aimed at eliminating developer complexity, improving security, and speeding up onboarding.
Developers can choose to build on top of zkEVM or migrate existing DApps without changing code or rewriting smart contracts, and also using ETH as a fee. and eliminates the need for third-party code translations or other middleware solutions.
After integrating with the public Testnet network, ConsenSys will perform a system upgrade. This aims to lay the foundation for “A highly efficient, trustless, and decentralized network,” according to Nicolas Liochon, head of research and development at ConsenSys.
The final upgrade will also include a verification and security process. To ensure zkEVM is secure before the mainnet launch later in 2023.
