“We don’t make any predictions with Mark. If there is a break, I know what will happen. But with Mark’s injury, we don’t know what will happen and to what extent it will be good or not,” said Steffen Baumgart during Cologne’s USA trip (via table football). Uth injured his pubic bone in the first round of the DFB Cup in August and underwent surgery shortly afterwards. Since then, the 31-year-old has only been used as a joker four times. “The cause of the pain has been found, but we can’t get rid of the pain,” Baumgart continued.
As early as August, shortly before Uth’s operation, managing director Christian Keller had explained that the cause of the injury problem had been found: “We now know what it is, where the pubic bone problem comes from. Hope for Ljubicic
The situation around Dejan Ljubicic, who injured his knee, is more gratifying. The midfielder tore an inner ligament in October but should be available again for the start of the second half of the season.
“We assume that he will start team training again at the beginning of January. Then there are still three weeks until the season starts again. We hope that everything will go well,” said Baumgart.
