Commentary on Hamburger SV and Tim Walter: Daring calm – sport

With the decision to continue to rely on coach Tim Walter, HSV sports director Jonas Boldt is risking something for which he received a lot of recognition: his eye for the big picture.

From the perspective of the Hamburg sports club, it is a shame that someone had the idea of the “Unity Monument” beforehand. That’s the name of a kind of seesaw, a 50-ton colossus made of steel that stands around in Stemwede in North Rhine-Westphalia, even though it should have been in Berlin long ago. The monument is intended to honor German unity, but unfortunately it is stuck in the same endless cycle of bureaucracy and construction delays as many large-scale projects. Let’s see if it ever gets finished.
