MLS 2023 has delivered its verdict. The final between Columbus Crew and Los Angeles FC, the respective winners of the Eastern and Western Conference, was hotly contested and the winning franchise was ultimately located in Ohio. French coach Wilfried Nancy’s team triumphed in front of their home crowd this Saturday evening by winning against Los Angeles FC (2-1).
In the first act, the two goals scored by Cucho Hernandez from the penalty spot (33rd) and Yaw Yeboah (37th) gave Columbus a comfortable advantage that the Californians were never able to catch up. The late achievement of Denis Bouanga (74th) was therefore not enough and Steven Moreira and his teammates lifted their 3rd MLS Champion title (after 2008 and 2020). For its part, LAFC failed to retain its crown, acquired last year at the expense of Philadelphia (3-3, 3-0 at the tab).
